DF60a. McMurdo, Antarctica
TERMC P.A. Remillard and Constructionman J.F. Boudreau,
cancelling mail in the McMurdo Post Office. TERMC was the Navy rating abbreviation for Chief
Teleman/Radioman. During the early 60s the Navy did away with the Teleman (TE) rating and
established the Postal Clerk (PC) rating. Most of the senior Teleman, such as Chief Remmillard,
would eventually convert to Radioman and the TE would be dropped from the rating abbreviation.
Once the conversion was complete these personnel would no longer be responsible for processing
U.S. Mail.
